We Take Little Of What We Have And Very Much Regret What We Lack

We take little of what we have and we regret very much what we lack

We sometimes make the mistake of calling almost everything we don’t have “need” and “obligation” what we might actually enjoy , such as the people around us, the feelings we feel or the situations we feel. let’s live. We therefore do not take advantage of many real opportunities because we prefer to fantasize over experience reality. This may be so because the first hypothesis is often easier than the second.

We generally don’t profit much from what we have. This is a model that some, unfortunately, experience most of the time. Some experts even speak  of missing piece syndrome to refer to this constant fixation on what we don’t have,  sometimes even going so far as to be obsessed.

Let’s stop idealizing and live for real

It makes sense and makes sense to reach one goal and think about the next. The problem arises when we otherwise take little of what we have. The key is here:  the present moment, whether we like it or not, is the only thing we have. This is the key to living fully.

Non-conformity is a tendency inherent in man. However, it should not ruin our lives. Motivation is also essential and to some extent instinctive. This is not necessarily negative. However,  if we add idealization to the chronic nonconformity of what we do not have, we can fall into a pit of dissatisfaction,  creating a parallel reality ourselves.

Idealization often plays tricks. We aspire or desire something because we believe that we will be better off if we achieve it. While we cannot actually know for sure what the situation will be until we experience it. To idealize is to blindly give a value, which then usually does not correspond to reality. Being aware of all of this is the first step in enjoying our daily life.

We need to be aware of what we have, who we are, and appreciate what life has to offer. We have to be careful about what we are looking for and wanting. There are no perfect situations, only the ones we think about. This is when the idealization of what we don’t have, what others have, and what we lack, kicks in.

Hell is paved with bad attention

We take little advantage of what we have because we don’t really care. Knowing what to pay attention to is the first step in appreciating it. Paying attention to the good things opens a window to well-being because the one  who knows how to enjoy the little or all that surrounds him has learned the true essence of life.

Valuing and appreciating what we have is fundamental  to meeting our needs and those of the people around us.

we take little advantage of what we have

We will leave you on an old story that teaches us why we often live focused on superficial pleasures that we cannot achieve, while we miss all the positive aspects of our existence.

“There was a rule in an English castle that  visitors did not have to pay entry  to visit it, which attracted most tourists visiting this place. Once inside the castle, there was only one condition not to pay the visit: the latter had to be done with a spoon full of sand in the mouth,  and if no grain of sand fell during the visit.  visit, it would ultimately be free. All the enthusiastic visitors accepted the challenge and visited the castle with enthusiasm and the illusion that they managed not to lose a single grain of the contents of the spoon.

Most visitors therefore did not materially  pay  entry, but  paid a much higher price: not having been able to appreciate anything inside the castle. None of the visitors who managed to finish the visit without losing a single grain of sand had seen the interior of the fort, its precious paintings, its architecture, because they had only watched for their spoon to avoid spilling the sand ” .

So don’t be like these visitors. Look away from what you think you are lacking and  start enjoying what you already have .
